Students must complete and submit the requested materials by email:
Please attach in an email the following:
1. Exhibition Narrative: a clear, concise description outlining the nature of the event or proposed exhibition
2. Images: 10 Jpeg images of work, 150 dpi, filenames labeled with:
Name, title of work, date, medium, dimensions (H x W x D)
3. Requests for special equipment or materials.
4. Artist Statement (s)
5. Resume (s)
6. Layout of how the space will be used.
Artist’s Responsibilities:
1. Secure a faculty sponsor or sponsors to attend the opening as a supervisor.
2. Sign off on final disclosure of the event, noting any change of plans regarding the event- this should happen at least a week prior to the opening.
3. All exhibitions will be installed, taken down, monitored and generally maintained by the artist(s) with some assistance from the Gallery Directors and Gallery Monitors.
4. The Two Columns Gallery Directors will provide access to the facility. Gallery staff and advisors are available for the advice and feedback concerning installation and aesthetic concerns.
5. Artist(s) are responsible for restoring the space to its original condition. This includes: all floor, ceiling and wall surfaces must be swept, patched and painted. This must be done to the satisfaction of the Gallery Directors.
6. Artist(s) must remove any artwork and materials associated with the exhibition at the conclusion of the exhibition closing. Any artwork or materials not removed at the end of the exhibition will be thrown in the trash.
7. Two Columns Gallery and RCAD assume NO responsibility for the work exhibited at the Two Columns Gallery. The artists must insure all work.
8. If your proposal is approved, it is your responsibility to put together a press release for the exhibition. You MUST include clear and concise information pertaining to the show. This information will be posted on the gallery blog and may be part of a handout available at the opening. Please submit information as early as possible prior to your exhibition date to allow for potential coverage in the local media. All other promotional materials and subsequent approval are the responsibility of the artist (posters, invitations, list of works and handouts).
Proposals are reviewed by Ringling College of Art + Design students working as the Gallery Directors and Monitors at Two Columns and Crossley Gallery.
