"In 1999 when the class of 2002 were freshmen, the Fine Arts department took a bus full of students and went to the Harn Museum for a contemporary art show. Since this was in Gainesville we contacted the college for a talk about graduate school. When the chair of graduate studies first talked with our students, they were told that only one of them would be making art in ten years. I left the room. Of the 22 students from 2002 most are still making art. Many of them have MFA’s also, just not from Florida. Here are a list of the schools I have for MFA’s from the class of 2002, Montclair in New Jersey, San Francisco Art Institute, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Claremont Graduate University, Bard College, University of South Florida, Boston University, Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California, University of Texas at San Antonio.
